Hair that is flat or limp is a sign that your hair needs a protein / keratin treatment. Normally, hair should be durable and full, so when it starts to look dull and flat it is generally a sign that it is lacking protein. By adding protein back into your hair, it will revitalise it and bring it back to a healthy state.
Usually, keratin is responsible for keeping your hair cuticle layers and follicles healthy and strong. However, too much of it can cause the buildup of excess protein on the outer layer of your hair, resulting in the opposite of its intended effect: dry hair, brittle hair texture, and potential hair breakage. It can also disrupt your natural hair’s moisture balance.
You should only use protein / keratin for a short period of time – between 2 to 4 weeks.
You hair will know when it has enough protein – it will pretty much tell you !
This is when you switch to a moisture regime.

𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐓𝐨 𝐔𝐬𝐞 𝐌𝐨𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 :

If you feel there is a build up of protein in your hair it may be a good idea to use a clarifying shampoo first to remove any build up.
It is then recommended to start using a moisturising Shampoo, Conditioner and Mask.
For the first two weeks use the moisturising Shampoo and Mask. Then continue with the Shampoo and Conditioner and use the Mask once a week if you still feel you need to.
This will restore the moisture in your hair and make it feel lush and strong again !
